I LOVE MY MAC

Hellooooooooo,
Once again it has been a long time between posts.  To be honest, I have been away from 3D Studio Max for quite a while as I have been relishing in my love iMac.  I have been re-learning Maya and having a look at Mudbox which is an awesome program.  Also I have used the power of iWeb to create the most fantastic website all about me.  If you fancy a look, then follow this easy to remember link, www.ashbyartwork.com . Let me know what you think by clicking my name or 'contact me' on the website.  I want to know if anything doesn't work or you think something can be done a different way.

I have had a month of problem free computing.  Turn it on and away I go.  I get a little bit disconcerted to be honest.  And then I turned on my PC and went to work on my character and within the five minutes this happens.

Have no fear, I have solved this blacking out issue.  As long as I keep the Sky light below 1.2 on the intensity and don't have too many other lights it is fine.  So just another normal day for me on my PC.  Oh and I have to prop it up all the time now as it over heats and shuts off........................lots.  I tried to render a video a while back and it took 56 hours.  I think that was the tipping point.  The video was rubbish too.

Anyway here is a render of my progress.  I can't wait to get it finished.  I am enjoying the project still just not the computer it is on.  It is difficult to persuade a computer to work when it wont turn on.

  1. sites looking good dude i will say that there might be too many clicks to see stuff though. while i was at evo i had andy and a few others giving me advise on how to lay out my portfolio the main thing all of them said was the fewer clicks the better.

if they open your character page and then have to open a render page and then go back to open a design page to go back to open the texture page then you might find people will be clicking the red X in the top corner. layout and design is very cool though nice and simple on the eye.

  2. Cheers buddy. I can always rely on you for a comment. I was trying to make my website a 3 click deal, but I must admit it did get away from me. I will have a review and see what I can do. Cheers for looking though bud.
