As you can see I need to equal the middle of his hair with the rest and maybe change the goggles so they don't look like concrete, but I pleased with the start.
I have used subtlety, I hope, to suggest detail, such as the freckles and upper lip. I am really pleased with the outcome. He makes me smile. To save on the old poly count, I didn't model behind the goggles. This does however leave me with an empty space and no eyes, so I think I may have to paint them in. We shall see.
I am very pleased with the goggle buckle, which I have painted in and the hair. I am really enjoying this little project. What a good idea. I wonder whose it was.
Looking good, I'm still watching.
ReplyDeleteKeep control of your colour pallette, it could end up to random.
I'd like to see a high version as well, but still keeping the cartoon feel.
Thank you very much. I will keep a check on the colours, just having a play at the mo. As for the higher poly version, I am using the Adult parallel models to show off higher poly modelling (hopefully using Mudbox) and the Kid models to show my lower poly modelling skills. I thought it would be an interesting way to show two skills in my poertfolio.
ReplyDeleteLooking good man keep it up. Don't get too caught up with making the textures look spot on just yet, just keep using those big blocky colours.

He has a great workflow for cartoon style character art that you may find helpful.
